The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) recently concluded the summer internship IIM Bangalore Placements for its largest-ever batches of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA), consisting of 602 eligible students. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the IIM Bangalore Placements, highlighting the diverse opportunities and achievements of the students.

IIM Bangalore Placements Breakdown:

The dedicated week for summer placements, conducted from November 6 to 11, resulted in 484 students (437 PGP and 47 PGP-BA) securing positions. Following this, 115 students (89 PGP and 26 PGP-BA) secured placements through a subsequent rolling process. Noteworthy is the inclusive effort by Atypical Advantage, which targeted the placement of 12 students with disabilities in leading corporations.

Individual Initiatives:

In a commendable display of initiative, three PGP students successfully secured summer internships independently, reflecting the proactive and entrepreneurial spirit within the student community.

Industry-wise Distribution:

The IIM Bangalore Placements spanned various industries, with consulting firms leading in the number of offers (158). Accenture Strategy, with a record 45 offers, stood out. However, the dynamics shifted slightly this year, with a surge in offers from finance, banking, and investment firms (130). Aspirational for marketing roles, FMCG, and retail firms made 69 offers. Manufacturing firms focused on supply chain and new product entry with 55 offers. E-commerce and payments firms extended 45 offers, particularly in digital marketing and the cards business. IT-related firms provided 43 offers, covering areas like IT consulting and product management. Business conglomerates made 41 offers, primarily targeting leadership tracks for general management roles.

Consulting Firms:

A total of 20 consulting firms participated, collectively offering 158 positions. Accenture Strategy led the pack, followed by prominent names such as Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and McKinsey & Company.

Finance / Banking / Investments Firms:

The finance, banking, and investments sector saw participation from 43 firms, contributing a total of 130 offers. PwC, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan Chase were among the top recruiters.

FMCG / Retail Firms:

Twenty-three FMCG and retail firms played a significant role, providing a total of 69 offers. Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble, and Coca Cola were among the top recruiters in this category.

Manufacturing / Construction / Energy Sector:

The manufacturing, construction, and energy sector witnessed the participation of 20 firms, with Tata Steel, Asian Paints, and Samsung R&D making 55 offers.

E-commerce / Payments / Telecom Firms:

Fifteen firms from the e-commerce, payments, and telecom sector contributed 45 offers. Amazon, American Express, and Zomato were notable recruiters in this category.

IT Software / Services / Security Firms:

Fourteen IT software, services, and security firms collectively made 43 offers. Pinelabs, Google, and Microsoft were among the leading recruiters in this segment.
