IIT Bombay is set to launch an Interdisciplinary Dual Degree Programme (IDDDP) in Quantum Science and Technology (QST). This comprehensive two-year program emphasizes QST courses and project work, providing students with an opportunity to engage in research within affiliated groups.

Courses Offered by QuICST

The Centre of Excellence in Quantum Information Computing Science and Technology (QuICST) will administer the course. Launched in August 2022, QuICST aims to foster advancements in quantum information and technology.

Dual Degree Advantage

Similar to other dual degree programs at IIT Bombay, this new offering enables students to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree within five years. Students can opt for this program in the third year of their BTech course.

Future Prospects and Integration

IIT Bombay is contemplating introducing quantum science and technology at the school level. Additionally, the institute plans to extend support to other educational institutions by sharing faculty development assistance, pedagogy, and syllabus structures.
